So, we started our trip from OKC to San Diego on Wednesday - we went to airport in the afternoon, checked in, found our gate and.... our flight got cancelled because of weather. So, we go back to front desk, pick up our luggage and head back home to come back for the next plane in the morning. We get up at 4 am and head to the airport and guess what? Our flight is cancelled again!!! It is Thursday, Christmas Eve. They changed our flight from Dallas to Denver that afternoon, but we are told that all flights out of OKC will be cancelled in the afternoon. So we head over to check in point and ask to be bumped to earlier flight because all we want is to get our trip started. Yes!!!! There were seats available and we are on plane, it takes half hour to de-ice and prep, but we do take off!!! We made it to Denver at 9:15 even tho we were late to flight out to San Diego. So we are on stand by... there is one plane around 11 am, there are several standby passengers not including us.. so we think, we sure should get on this plane - we are the only ones with an infant. Well, apparently babies come after all sorts 'preferred passengers'. Anyhow, we wait for next plane, just another 4.5 hours or so. Well, there is only one seat, we don't want to split. I ask Andy: " What are we gonna do if we can't get to out to California, we can't fly back to OK either."So, third time is a charm, right? At least that's what i say to comfort myself, it sure should work. And yes, we got on third plane, our plane was third on line to be de-iced, we are happy to be in a place even tho it took about 50 minutes before we started moving, after 3 hours and 15 minutes of flight, we make it to San Diego at night. We lost one whole day of trip, but still made it to Christmas Eve. My sonny Alex was very cute looking and well behaved.
Hope you all had a very merry christmas!!! Please, don't let the snow melt away before we come back, until then....we are enjoying 60 degrees of San Diego!! :)
